WHY WASN'T MY TRASH PICKED-UP?
The township doesn't
pick up trash! You must contract with a private company for trash
pick-up. Those doing business in the township are: AM Dumpster Rental and Junk Removal (3300-729-5865), Kimble
(800.201.0005), Republic Services (440.458.5191), and Rumpke
(800.828.8171)
WHAT DO I NEED A ZONING PERMIT FOR?
Permits are needed for all new decks,
garages, additions of any kind, barns (including agricultural use),
storage units (including portable small sheds), and pools (both
above and in-ground). If in doubt check the Zoning Regulations or
contact the Zoning Inspector at 330/239-3611.
I CAN'T REACH THE ZONING INSPECTOR!
The Zoning Inspector only works part-time.
He/She monitors their voice mail and will get back to you if you leave
your name and phone number. You may also contact them by e-mail at
(zoning@grangertwp.org).
Zoning Hours:
Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays from 9-11 AM.

NO ONE IS AT THE FIRE STATION: IF YOU HAVE AN EMERGENCY CALL 9-1-1-!!
The non-emergency number at the Station
is 330/239-2111, and has an answering machine. Someone is at the
Fire Station only on a limited daytime basis. Fire Department personnel

HOW DO I JOIN THE FIRE AND RESCUE DEPARTMENT?
The Department is always looking for
willing volunteers. If you are interested or would like further
information please stop down at the station any Thursday evening
from 7:30 - 9:00 PM, or leave a message on the answering machine
at 330/239-2111. You may also contact the Fire Department by e-mail at (grangerfiredept@gmail.com).
WHEN DO THE TRUSTEES MEET?
The Trustees generally meet twice each month; the Second Monday at 4:00 PM and the last Monday at 7:00 PM. Special
Meetings are held as needed. Meetings are held in the Granger Township
Administration Building, 3717 Ridge Rd. All meetings are advertised
in the Public Meetings Section on the 2nd page of the Medina County
Gazette. The public is invited to attend and participate.
DOES THE TOWNSHIP HAVE A LOCAL INCOME TAX?
No, by law, townships cannot enact a local income tax.
WHAT IF I AM A TOWNSHIP RESIDENT AND WORK IN A CITY (i.e. Cleveland, Akron etc.)?
If you work in a city that has a local income tax you must pay tax to that city. Usually it is withheld by your employer.
